That is something former Otago woman Victoria Keach will have to grapple with as she prepares to head to London this month for the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
While not on the guest list for the nuptials, Ms Keach's friend Sally Edgerton, from Otatara, yesterday won a place on Radio Live's team to report from London during the wedding.
She chose Ms Keach to accompany her, telling the station her friend was, like her, an avid royal fan and had just experienced the Christchurch earthquake so it would be a lovely thing with which to surprise her.
Ms Keach (32), who was brought up in South Otago and now works for Coverstaff in Christchurch, was listening to a small hand-held radio yesterday morning, when she heard her friend answer the phone and receive the news she had won the competition.
"I was jumping up and down ... It was unbelievable," she said.
Ms Keach was waiting to hear more details of the trip. She did know they would be staying in a "posh" hotel in Belgravia.
She had been thinking about the best position from which to watch the wedding procession and expected the pair would probably camp out overnight.
She did have a hat she could wear but, unfortunately, it was trapped in the company's building in central Christchurch, and she has been working from temporary premises.
Ms Keach has previously been to an afternoon tea party at Buckingham Palace, after being selected in a ballot while living in London. She saw the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Prince Andrew.
