The Outram School pupils will be dressing to impress this weekend for the school's mardi gras.
"The school will be getting completely transformed," event organiser Alex Morton said. "Everyone will be getting dressed up and it will be a great family day."
Entertainment will be provided by Taieri bluesman King Leo LaDell.
There will be an auction and prizes including a ukelele from Twang Town and a helicopter-training flight with a HeliOtago instructor and "a retro alley full of quality second-hand stuff",Ms Morton said earlier this week.
There will also be an outdoor screening of the film Grease, from 9.15pm.
If it rained on Saturday, the event would be postponed until Sunday, Ms Morton said.
"But, if it's raining in Dunedin, it's not raining here."
The mardi gras is on at Outram School from 4pm till 11.30pm on Saturday.
