Wanted man found hiding in Oamaru ceiling

A man being sought by police was found hiding in the ceiling space of an Oamaru address yesterday afternoon.

Shannon Berryman (23), who has a distinctive Mongrel Mob tattoo across his forehead, was wanted after breaching his electronic bail in Dunedin last month.

Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin, said police received information Berryman was staying in a residential property in Oamaru.

He was found hiding in the ceiling of the property and was co-operative - "as he didn't have anywhere else to run".
