When dance is one of the last examinations in the NCEA exam
schedule, it is not unusual to see pupils doing pirouettes or
flash mobs outside their school.
King's High School dancers Josh Elisara and Moti Anthony, and
Queen's High School dancers Ana Maka, Ashley Hughes and
Sophie Hiko-Piho, broke out some of their own dance moves
yesterday after their last exam for 2012 - NCEA level 2
dance, at Queen's High School.
They were among 6320 pupils in Otago and more than 143,000
pupils nationwide who officially completed the NCEA and New
Zealand scholarship exam season.
NZQA deputy chief executive qualifications Richard Thornton
said, so far, more than 310,000 papers had been marked and
results had been entered by a team of about 1850 markers
around the country.
All papers would be marked by Christmas and all NCEA results
would be available online from mid-January, he said.
New Zealand scholarship results would be released in
mid-February.
''We advise students to have a practice run using the
'learner login' section of the NZQA website so that they're
not held up on the day results are released by having to find
login details or change passwords.''
NZQA will also advise students via twitter [@NCEAexams] when
results are available online.
From January, all pupils who had paid their fees and
completed NCEA or university entrance would be able to order
their own certificates online. Answer booklets would be
returned to candidates from late January onwards, he said.
