The flow of the Water of Leith has been diverted to allow
contractors to work in the bed of the river as part of flood
protection works from the Leith footbridge to Forth St.
Sections of the upper concrete walls are being removed and
the river is being widened by excavating both banks between
the footbridge and Clyde St.
The work is expected to be completed by March next year.
