yesterday afternoon. There were also crashes near Papakaio in
North Otago and near Gore.
Senior Constable Steve Griffiths, of Milton, said emergency

of a sheep truck and trailer unit indicated left to pull into
a farm driveway. A 37-year-old Christchurch man driving a
Holden Commodore tried to overtake the truck on the left, and
slid into a fence just off the road, he said. The man was not
injured.
• A 57-year-old Gore man was taken to Gore Hospital by
ambulance with minor injuries yesterday afternoon after the
Downer tip-truck he was driving rolled on a sweeping
right-hand bend on Knapdale Rd, about 3km west of Gore,
Sergeant Ian Temple, of Gore, said. Police were yet to speak
to the driver to determine the cause of the crash, he said.

Plains near Papakaio yesterday afternoon were flown to
Dunedin Hospital in two helicopters.
One person was trapped inside a car when the fire service
