Contractors prepare the road surface through The Glen,
Dunedin, yesterday before the final seal is put on the first
stage of the Caversham Highway development.
Downer project manager Mark Woodward said about 2000 tonnes
of asphalt would be laid on the road surface this week ''if
the weather holds''.
It would complete stage one of the two-stage,
multimillion-dollar highway development. Stage two, from
Barnes Dr to Lookout Point, had begun and was on schedule, Mr
Woodward said.
Lane restrictions would be in place while the sealing work
was carried out.
