Police are investigating two suspected arsons in Dunedin on
Monday night.
East Otago assistant area commander Craig Geddes said crew
from Willowbank fire station were en route to a cabbage tree
fire in Woodhaugh St at 11.45pm on Monday when they saw
rubbish burning on a trailer in Malvern St.
After the trailer fire was extinguished and police had
arrived, they extinguished the small fire burning at the base
of the cabbage tree.
Acting Senior Sergeant Chris George, of Dunedin, said the
fires were suspicious. The trailer was worth about $1000.
Anybody who had seen anyone acting suspiciously at the time
of the fire was asked to contact police, Acting Snr Sgt
George said.
