Ticketing agent, Regent Theatre general manager Sarah Anderson, said pre-paid tickets to the RSA Choir's Anzac Day Revue concert tomorrow night would not match the seating in the newly refurbished Dunedin Town Hall, because the seats sold were based on a seating plan which was based on the construction plan.
Unfortunately, the construction plan was not the same as what was built, she said.
DVML communications manager Jo Scully said the construction plan was based on seats that were 350mm wide, but the seats which were installed in the hall were 450mm wide.
''We've gone for a little comfort. The configuration of seating had to be changed to fit them in.''
Despite the mix up, Ms Anderson said the concert was still going ahead, but hoped the audience would be understanding that the seats would now be general admission.
''It's unfortunate that this has happened, but it does happen.
''We hope the audience will be understanding and make it as enjoyable a night as possible.''
Ms Scully said future concerts at the Dunedin Town Hall would not be affected, because ticketing agents were now aware of the issue and would be contacting ticket holders to offer other seats.
