Vandervis plans complaint over ODT article

Dunedin city councillor Lee Vandervis says he plans to lay a complaint with police about an Otago Daily Times article rating councillors' performance in the last term.

Cr Vandervis says the article breaches the 2001 Local Electoral Act by attempting to interfere with or influence voters in the process of voting in the local body elections.

The opinion piece appeared in the ODT on September 21.

ODT editor Murray Kirkness had no comment other than to say due process would take its course.
