Ravishing rascals The Beefcake Boys are preparing to
entertain Taieri women at a Mosgiel Memorial RSA fundraiser
The lads would perform a humorous show at the Otago Racing
Club at Wingatui on March 29, which promised to be ''more
funny than bawdy'', RSA manager Gary Dalton said.
There is no full nudity in the show, one of the club's major
fundraisers for the year.
Mr Dalton encouraged all fun-loving females to gather their
friends and support the event.
''Wives can leave their husbands at home to watch the
rugby,'' he said.
The Beefcake Boys include Dunedin performer Jimmy Fletcher,
known in the television and film industry as Jimmy the Dwarf.
He has appeared in a variety of New Zealand television shows
and worked as a body double for children and small monsters
in many films, including The Lord of the Rings, in
which he was Gimli's body double.
The Beefcake Boys' organiser and promoter Aaron Keown, of
Christchurch, said Jimmy and most other performers were
recognisable from television and film productions including
Shortland Street, Auckland Daze and Hercules.
''It's a ladies' night but we kind of take the mickey out of
ladies' nights,'' he said.
The show will be filmed for a documentary being made about
the group, which formed about 10 years ago. Tickets cost $25
and can be bought from the Mosgiel Memorial RSA.
