Taking shape

Photo by Peter McIntosh.Construction is under way on Nichols Property Group's site on the corner of Teviot and Timaru Sts, Dunedin.

Willowridge Developments planning and development general manager Alison Devlin said it was hoped the building would be completed by March.

However, a delay in obtaining building consent had shifted that date back to May. Two of the building's units had been tenanted by companies not previously based in Dunedin, she said.

The $2 million development would house three units ranging in size from 300sq m to 500sq m.

The group's redevelopment of the former Red Barn site in Andersons Bay Rd was expected to be completed by October.

Wendy's Hamburgers is set to be one of its tenants.

With more and more industries closing down; Dunedin and the Otago region needs all the opportunities it can grab. I can't see any reason why anyone would need to be opposed because it isn't 27 stories high. If one of the tenants are going to be a Burger Joint then so be it - we all make choices about what we eat so just go for a run before or after.

Just what we need.....
