Councillors yesterday reserved a decision on whether to spend
an extra $65,000 next year on an invest-to-save initiative,
such as upgrading the lighting at the Civic Centre.
About $160,000 not spent this financial year on upgrades to
energy efficient lighting is to be carried forward to next
year, but staff had requested the council add another $65,000
to complete the lighting upgrade in the Civic Centre, saying
it would save the council money in the long run.
After some discussion, councillors decided to, subject to
their final deliberations, carry forward the $160,000 to be
used for invest-to-save energy projects.
