Ward lifts lock down over gastro

Restrictions in one of the Dunedin Hospital wards in lockdown due to gastroenteritis have been lifted.

Southern District Health Board patient services director Lexie O'Shea said there had been no further cases in either ward 6a or ward 6b.

Yesterday the board reopened ward 6b to visitors and admissions, while ward 6a would be reassessed today.

Restrictions remained in place at Clutha Health First, where the inpatient ward was not accepting any transfers from other hospitals because of a gastroenteritis outbreak.

Tight restrictions on visitors remained in place.
