Google Maps has thrown up some strange ones over the years but coloured UFOs over central Dunedin?

An ODT reporter was checking Bond St on Google Street View yesterday when she came across what could well be a red and orange visitor from another galaxy.

Adding to the conspiracy intrigue, is that a chem-trail traced across the Dunedin sky?

Are these two events linked?

More to the point, what other mysteries are lurking out there on Google Maps?

A better way

Some concerned citizen flying a balloon to determine the height of a possible waterfront hotel?

Cosmic traffic lights

Im with that 'Auvis', who may be from Orange, NSW. We want prosaic! If we wanted funny papers, we would have bought Mandrake™. Just the facts, ma'am. Like, is it really a trompe l'oeil?

Aberration

"...what could well be a red and orange visitor from another galaxy".

Wow, could it really be...  If only the ODT printed news worthy articles written by journalists.

Nothing more than a sun flare on the lens. And trying to stir the pot with the "chem-trail" gag again.

Another slow day in Dunedin...

[The story is tongue in cheek, although the 'mystery object' clearly appears on Google maps and we are interested in other anomalies readers might find on the mapping service - Editor

Google having a laugh

Good to see the IT crowd there have a sense of humour.
