Man's body found in harbour

Police retrieved the body of a man body from Otago Harbour this morning, after it was discovered by a member of the public.

The deceased was a 61-year-old Dunedin man, police said this afternoon.

The body was found in water near Holcim Cement on Fryatt St and was retrieved about 7am.

The death was not believed to be suspicious, Senior Sergeant Dave Scott, of Dunedin, said.

The matter had been referred to the coroner, he said.
