The Bowel Cancer New Zealand display was to promote the disease's awareness month in June.
This month 20,000 marked packs of Cottonsoft toilet paper are expected to be sold, with $1 from each pack going to the bowel cancer organisation.
Bowel Cancer New Zealand national executive member Leonie Day, who accompanied the demonstration, said she was disappointed with the lack of progress establishing a nationwide screening problem.
Each year, 1200 New Zealanders died and almost 3000 were diagnosed with bowel cancer.
It had a good cure rate if caught early, but New Zealand's survival rates were far too low, Ms Day said.
