A wanted man is still evading police, after the armed offenders squad closed a Calton Hill street for the second time in as many weeks.

Jeremy Phillip Clark, an associate of Bandidos MC, is on the run from police and has sparked several AOS callouts in Calton Hill during the past week.

The AOS was called to a Hazel Ave address before moving to a Mariner St address about 1.30pm yesterday.

Mariner St was blocked off by police for more than an hour and AOS members could be seen stationed outside an address with their rifles trained on the house.

A police spokesman said the AOS was deployed to the house after police received a tip-off Clark might be there.

''He wasn't located and they were stood down,'' the spokesman said.

A woman emerged from the house in a pink dressing gown during the search and was escorted down the street by a police officer.

The police spokesman said she was helping police with their inquiries and was not arrested.

AOS members could be heard speaking through a loudspeaker before moving into the house and emerging several minutes later.

They were also deployed at nearby addresses in Panmure Ave and a dog handler was at the scene.

Police executed a search warrant at the address in Mariner St last week in an attempt to find Clark.

It followed the search of a nearby Columba Ave address.

A Mariner St resident told the Otago Daily Times it was the second time the AOS had closed the street.

Police had only told him they were looking for an associate of the house's occupant, he said.

''They just told me to stay inside.''

The police spokesman said several search warrants had failed to locate Clark, who is wanted on two arrest warrants for assault.

''We have conducted a number of search warrants and failed to locate him,'' the police spokesman said.

''The information we have suggests he may have access to weapons.''

He would not comment on the threat Clark posed to the public, but urged anyone who saw Clark to contact police and not approach him.

''We are urging members of the public who may have seen Clark or know his whereabouts to contact police straight away,'' he said.

Clark is aged 42, 177cm tall and of a solid build.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Dunedin police on (03) 471-4800. Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555-111.

Anyone seeing Clark is urged to immediately ring 111.
