Emergency services workers tended to a 34-year-old man with suspected leg and chest injuries, after the bicycle he was riding was in a collision with a car in North Dunedin yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane, of the Southern District Command Centre, said the incident occurred near the entrance to the Dunedin Botanic Garden on the corner of Great King St and North Rd about 5.30pm.

The man was taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance.

Snr Sgt Lennane said no charges had been laid, and inquiries into the cause of the accident were continuing.
