Property manager quits DCC

Dunedin City Council manager Rhonda Abercrombie has resigned abruptly, but nobody is prepared to say why.

Mrs Abercrombie, the council's assistant city property manager, handed in her notice last week but was no longer working at the council's Civic Centre building.

She declined to comment in detail when contacted at home yesterday, telling the Otago Daily Times she was ''not at liberty'' to explain her move.

''I just really decided to move on from the council for a number of reasons, and to pursue something different.''

City property manager Kevin Taylor, contacted yesterday, confirmed Mrs Abercrombie's departure but said it was a staffing matter he could not discuss.

Council chief executive Dr Sue Bidrose could not be contacted yesterday for comment.
