Earlier this year, Ms Cooper was made Urban Dream Brokerage creative projects and commercial sites broker, as well as being part of a panel selecting artworks to liven up under-used CBD spaces around the city.
She said yesterday she had been in business for 12 years and creating collections twice a year for that time had been demanding.
Also, she had skills outside designing.
She had worked as the Dunedin City Council's arts adviser in the early 2000s, and was involved in August with the New Zealand-Vietnam Fashion Collaboration.
"I really enjoyed that work.''
The shift in focus did not, however, mean the end of the Tamsin Cooper brand.
"Just watch this space,'' she said.
"I just need a sabbatical.''
