Man 'acting suspiciously' in Corstorphine

Police are warning Corstorphine residents to remain vigilant after a man has been acting suspiciously in the Dunedin suburb.

Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said a man had been knocking on doors and "peering in windows'' of Corstorphine homes.

If someone was home, the man gave an excuse, such as looking for a lost dog or a friend.

"It seems quite legitimate, but we suspect his motives aren't so pure,'' Sen Sgt Waru said.

The man was known to police.

If the man was found on a property and gave a general excuse, the resident should call police.

"We think he is up to no good and we want people to remain vigilant.''
