Suspicious behaviour in Corstorphine

Dunedin police are warning Corstorphine residents to be vigilant after a man was seen acting suspiciously in the suburb.

Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said a man had been knocking on Corstorphine home's doors and "peering in windows''.

If someone was home, the man gave an excuse, such as looking for a lost dog, or a friend.

"It seems quite legitimate, but we suspect his motives aren't so pure.''

The man was aged in his early 20s and was known to police.

If the man was found on a property and gave a general excuse, the resident should call police.

"We think he is up to no good and we want people to remain vigilant and give us a call.''
