A Dunedin high school is one of 13 nationally to have received a bomb threat.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said this afternoon Logan Park High School was one of the schools involved in the threat.
Police were ''liaising'' with Logan Park principal Jane Johnson, he said.
A police spokesman said the calls began about 11.20am and ceased about noon.
Today's calls bore similarities to calls received by 27 schools late last month - they involved the use of a synthesised voice and the calls were received at a similar time and day of the week.
At least three of the schools that received calls today had previously received them.
Police have attended each school and worked with their management teams to decide on the appropriate response.
A number of schools made the decision to evacuate as per their standard emergency procedures, but most have resumed normal operation after being cleared by Police.
Last month, police confirmed they responded to bomb threat calls at 27 schools on February 25, and the day before Dunedin's Logan Park High School was one of six targeted.
Police believed the calls may have been computer generated.
Logan Park also received a bomb threat on January 29 when pupils were away for the summer holiday. That call was traced to a Dunedin address, police said.
