A young woman injured when a balcony collapsed on top of her at a Six60 concert is ‘‘working hard to get home''.

Family spokeswoman Margot Hishon said the prognosis of University of Otago student Bailley Unahi (19) was still not definite but she was focused on her rehabilitation.

‘‘She's going well,'' Ms Hishon said.

‘‘She's been in the pool [and] she spends a lot of time in her wheelchair.

‘‘She's got a great attitude.''

Miss Unahi sustained serious spinal injuries when the overloaded balcony collapsed last month at the band-organised gig.

Seventeen others were also injured.

There had been no indication of whether Miss Unahi would walk again, Ms Hishon said.

‘‘There's been nothing like that [indicated],'' she said.

Miss Unahi had had ‘‘heaps of family support'' and her mother was still at her beside at Burwood Hospital.

She hoped to be home by the middle of the year.
