Police are investigating the unexplained death of a man in Dunedin.
A forensic team inspected a unit in Saunders St, Brockville, this morning.
A detective at the scene said the cause of death was unknown.
"We don't know, that is why we are making some inquiries. We are erring on the side of caution and see what comes of it."
He could not confirm how many bodies were in the unit.
"It's too early to say."
A neighbour said police had been in the street since about 6pm last night.
Two ambulances were called to the house last night.
A man lived alone in the unit, the neighbour said.
