Research into grape fungus rewarded

Lincoln University student Jackie Sammonds has won the David Jackson Prize at the Wines of Canterbury David Jackson dinner, which was held last month, for her study into a fungal disease.

Her research focused on the behaviour of Botryosphaeria fungal spores prior to infection.

Her research will improve the understanding of the infection process, specifically during the early stages of disease development and may be useful to develop new disease control strategies.
