Pack your lad off to the Man Creche.
Riccarton Robbie's co-owner Andy Jacques said the philosophy behind the creche is a haven for males who are less than fond of shopping with their partner.
"It's basically that stereotypical picture you get of the man reluctantly going to the shops with his wife. He sees the sign and maybe he suggests to her that he could pop in for a wee beer while she's shopping.''
The creche attendees are well behaved Mr Jacques said, and don't throw their toys out of the cot when it comes to home time.
And while their female companions like dropping them off while they peruse the stores, they're mindful not to leave the boys there too long.
"Generally they're happy to take them home before they put more money in the TAB.''
The restaurant put up the sign to target shoppers at the nearby Westfield mall who occasionally use their carpark.
Mr Jacques said it would be hard to determine how much the sign had affected patron numbers.
"We'd like to think we snag the occasional one with it,'' he said.
