The body of a swimmer who went missing at a lake on Auckland's West Coast has been found.
Fifty-year-old Grant Robert Faulkner went for an early morning swim at Lake Wainamu at Bethells Beach on Sunday morning but failed to return.
Family notified police of his disappearance about 10.30am. His towel and keys remained untouched and there was no indication he had returned to his car.
Police dive squads discovered his body at lunchtime today about 20 metres from the shoreline after a two-day search.
The incident has been referred to the coroner.
