Police have named a man killed in a crash near Gisborne last
week.
Patrick Raukawa, 59, of Gisborne, died when his
four-wheel-drive left State Highway 2 south of Gisborne
sometime on Thursday night, and plunged 60 metres down a
bank.
The vehicle went through dense vegetation before coming to
rest slightly on its roof.
A crane was used at about midday yesterday to haul vehicle
back up to the highway, and it was then taken to Gisborne.
