Fifteen fire engines are battling a large blaze which has engulfed an abandoned school hall in Petone this evening.
The fire, which was reported just after 7.30pm, is centred on a building at the former Petone Technical College campus.
Fire Service central communications shift manager Jan Wills said the fire was "well involved through the roof" when crews arrived.
No further information was available.
