Stewart Murray Wilson has been declined parole because he still poses an undue risk to the community, the Parole Board has decided.

Wilson, who was seen by the Parole Board in Wanganui today, is serving 21 years for serious sexual offending after being recalled to prison for a breach of parole.

He was paroled to a house on Whanganui Prison grounds in 2012 after serving 18 years but was recalled after allegedly using his cellphone to call a woman he was instructed not to contact.

His sentence finishes on December 1 next year.

Wilson will be considered for parole again in October and will face trial in November on charges of breaching his parole.

In a brief statement today, the Parole Board said it saw Wilson today for consideration of parole at Whanganui Prison.

"Mr Wilson has been declined parole as he still poses an undue risk to the safety of the community," the board said.

Its full decision would be released later.
