The young female jogger assaulted while running on the Hatea Loop remains in Whangarei Hospital.
The woman in her early 20s was dragged off the track last Friday at about 6.30am and driven to a house where she was sexually assaulted.
She was left badly injured in central Whangarei, where a member of the public found her and alerted emergency services.
Whangarei Hospital staff confirmed the woman was in a stable condition.
A man has been arrested in relation to the assault.
