A police drug bust in Auckland has netted a big haul of methamphetamine and almost half a million dollars in cash.
Auckland police said Operation Disruption, which concluded this week, had targeted organised crime and related offending.
Eleven people were arrested, one of whom was found with close to $400,000 in cash.
Operation Disruption also netted tens of thousands of dollars of methamphetamine and what police described as a "significant amount" of other illegal drugs. A stash of firearms and ammunition was also seized, as well as a large haul of electronic goods, which were believed to have been stolen.
The 11 people arrested in the operation will face drug and property charges. Four of them have been remanded in custody, facing charges of possession of methamphetamine for supply.
Detective Inspector Kevin Hooper said police would continue to target methamphetamine manufacture and dealing as a priority.
"We know organised crime and drugs are a driver of crime and cause social and financial harm to communities," he said,
"It's satisfying when we can help remove harm from the streets."
Police have asked anyone with information on organised crime, drugs or gangs to contact their local police station or call the Crimestoppers organisation, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
