A truck breakdown in downtown Auckland is causing big traffic delays over the Harbour Bridge towards the North Shore this morning.
The breakdown happened just after 6am on a southbound lane of the Southern Motorway near the Victoria Park fly-over. It quickly caused delays for those heading into the city from the North Shore on the Northern Motorway.
Authorities cleared the scene at about 7.30am. However, traffic remains backed up for about 20km, from south of the Fanshawe Rd offramp to Greville Rd, Albany.
The NZ Transport Agency urged motorists heading into the city or south to consider using State Highways 16 or 18.
