Rotorua shooting deaths referred to coroner

Police confirmed today they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the double fatal shooting in Rotorua last week.

The bodies of James Desmond Nothdurft, 38, and Priscilla Whaiti Nothdurft (formerly Ruri), aged 31, were found lying outside a Sunset Road property in the suburb of Mangakakahi last Thursday afternoon. A rifle was found nearby.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Roper said today they had completed the majority of inquiries into the incident and no one else was being sought in connection with the deaths.

The matter had now been referred to the coroner.
