Parks help in raising $100,000

Queenstown Lakeview Holiday Park, Arrowtown Born of Gold Holiday Park and Queenstown Top 10 Holiday Park Creeksyde were among 54 parks which raised more than $100,000 for breast cancer research.

Holiday parks from around the country took part in the Holiday Parks Challenge, launched a year ago by the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association in support of the Breast Cancer Research Trust. Each park was challenged to raise at least $1000 for the charity.

Parks used a wide variety of energetic and innovative ways to raise the funds, from fun runs and Tupperware parties, to quick-fire raffles for visitors, and other competitions.

One park invited guests to fill the cups of a bra with donations.

Special mention was made of the Christchurch Top 10 Holiday Park, which raised $2110, despite dealing with the effects of the earthquakes.
