A mysterious naked tramper made another appearance near
Wanaka on Waitangi Day - this time swimming rather than
walking.
Constable Mel Twyman said a woman walking on the Outlet Track
had reported seeing a naked man "emerging'' from the Clutha
River between 7.45am and 8.15am. There was no indecent
behaviour.
The incident follows reports throughout December and January
of a naked man walking in the Mt Iron and Outlet Track areas.
Constable Chris McAnally, of Cromwell, said a fellow officer
stopped a naked cyclist on Monday afternoon on State Highway
8 between Cromwell and Tarras after receiving a complaint.
The cyclist asked whether he had been speeding, before he
