Queenstown Primary School pupils (from left) Colin
Kirkpatrick (12), Hayato Yoneto (11), Nicholas Clark (10) and
Ben Soto (11) test the human gyro exhibit at the Fonterra
Science Roadshow in the school hall on Wednesday.
About 650 pupils from Queenstown Primary, Remarkables Primary
and Wakatipu High schools interacted with 70 exhibits at the
roadshow this week.
The Queenstown Primary School hall was buzzing with
excitement as children got their hands on the exhibits
displayed in six themes and two demonstrations.
The 80-minute sessions aimed to nurture their curiosity and
discovery, improve motivation and attitude and support
numeracy and literacy.
After operating in the hall on Tuesday and Wednesday, the
roadshow departed for Invercargill schools yesterday.
The roadshow is expected to return to the Wakatipu next year,
the event's 25th anniversary year.
