Queenstown's Alpine Health and Fitness centre was a winner at
the New Zealand Fitness Industry Awards in Auckland on
Saturday night.
The youngest gym in the area, opening only three years ago,
won its category in club of the year with membership size
between 501-1500.
The fitness centre gained honours because more than 90% of
its members recommended the gym to outsiders and 90% of staff
have stayed since the club opened.
"It is a testimony to an award-winning club," judge Dr Nigel
Harris said.
The judges were impressed by the growth of the facility, high
visitor numbers and "happy, loyal members".
Communications and business development manager Rachelle
Greene said she was thrilled with the award and it was great
for the centre to be recognised by the industry only three
years in.
"It's absolutely fantastic for us to be competing against
gyms from all around the country and to come out with this
award. It's great to be recognised by industry standards."
