More than 500 motorhomes need to be driven to Auckland by
New Year's Eve from Christchurch and Queenstown.
Standbyrelocs.com are offering drivers a $5 a day rate to
hire the vehicles in order to get them up north.
The deal will include a free ferry pass and a full tank of
fuel and will be an option for the unplanned family holiday,
Standbyrelocs.com PR manager Erin Cook said.
''Most of these two, four and six-berth motorhomes come fully
equipped with all crockery and cutlery, linen, duvets, bath
towels and a shower and toilet.
''With school holidays fast approaching, this deal could not
come at a better time for families in search of an affordable
summer getaway."
Standby Cars director William Brice said the company's
suppliers were desperate to get the vans back to Auckland.
''This is a win/win situation because suppliers are able to
get their vans back and families are able to enjoy a very
economical, luxury, driving holiday."
Standbyrelocs.com is a car comparison site that lets
suppliers compete against each other for last-minute
bookings.
