Public making good use of recycling bins

About half of the waste generated at Skyline is being recycled - enough each month to fill a 40-seat bus.

The Glass Packaging Forum's Public Place Recycling Scheme released a case study on recycling at Skyline Queenstown to promote the importance of recycling for the tourist sector.

In 2012, Skyline Queenstown, sister company Skyline Rotorua and major supplier Coca-Cola Amatil NZ became partners in the Government's Love NZ recycling initiative.

Skyline Queenstown introduced recycling bins outside the market kitchen area and at the mountain bike park.

The project was funded jointly by Skyline, Coca-Cola Amatil and the Waste Minimisation Fund. The bins were also at AJ Hackett Bungy and NZSki skifields.
