Lily (6) and Olive (3) Bentley, of Arrowtown, sit next to their scarecrow Bella after the Arrowtown Autumn Festival's scarecrow competition yesterday. The festival opened on Thursday evening and is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Bella was made from spare materials in the family's cupboards and earned the girls a highly-commended award.
Last night the Athenaeum Hall hosted a pearl ball and this weekend is packed with activities such as the festival parade and the pie and pint festival.
