Two opponents are the only submitters on plans for a snowmobile operation on Crown pastoral lease land in the Nevis Valley.
Queenstown Snowmobiles Ltd has applied to the Central Otago District Council for consent to operate guided snowmobile trips on Nokomai Station, to locate temporary structures and to allow helicopter flights.
The company has a 20-year recreational permit from the Crown and was seeking resource consent for the same term.
It wanted consent for a maximum of seven helicopter trips to the site a day and the land lessees have given their approval for the venture.
A decision will be made next week.
