A 31-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries after the 4WD she was driving (pictured) rolled on the Fernhill-Glenorchy road in Queenstown yesterday.

The woman was travelling into Queenstown and apparently hit black ice.

The car flipped on to its side and rolled, partly blocking the road. Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of the Southern District Command Centre, said the woman walked from the vehicle shortly after the accident about 8.40am.

Police were investigating, but no charges were laid yesterday.

St John station manager Keith Raymond said the accident looked worse than it was.

Sgt Dinnissen urged drivers to be cautious when driving in wintry conditions, particularly on roads which did not get much sun.
