This morning, the 31-year-old racing car driver posted several videos of his helicopter journey this morning on the social networking app Snapchat. One video was captioned: "Yip this is the most beautiful place I've seen."
Hamilton yesterday flew on a commercial Air New Zealand flight from Auckland - where he took to Twitter to vent his frustrations with SkyCity Casino, alleging he was ‘‘treated like dirt'' - and landed in at Queenstown Airport just after 6pm.
Wearing ripped black jeans, a blue denim jacket and a hat emblazoned with ‘‘Prosperity'', he accompanied by two minders through the airport with his matching luggage to a waiting limousine service.
About 8.30pm, Hamilton was seen dining at Flame Bar and Grill.
Before his flight, Hamilton took to social networking site Snapchat, with a video showing him and two others inside the plane, saying he did not know where he was going.
‘‘We think we're going to one place, but we might be going to China 'cos there are a lot of Chinese people on this flight,'' he said.
He also shared several videos overlooking Queenstown, including one saying he was ‘‘having a great time''.
Hamilton races for the Mercedes AMG Petronas team and is the only driver in the history of the sport to have won at least one race in each season he has completed to date.
He posted on social media app Snapchat just before 7.30pm that he had landed in Melbourne.
The video appeared to show Hamilton walking through the Melbourne airport.
He put the video up under the line ``Melbourne - happy to be here''.
Hamilton said in the video: ``We made it. Finally in Melbourne. It's hot here. Going to be good for the weekend.''
