A slip has closed Skippers Rd, near Queenstown, for the second time in a week.
Queenstown Lakes District Council communications manager Michele Poole said the debris slide, caused by 24 hours of intense rain, was at Blue Slip.
It is the same place where a slip a week ago closed the road for three days.
Ms Poole said the slip was being assessed today, and she hoped to provide an estimate of how long it would take contractors to clear the road.
