Hopes of seeing icebergs off the coast of Otago in the
coming days have been blown away by strong winds - although a
following group of icebergs could still make an appearance.
An iceberg which split in half near Macquarie Island, about
halfway between New Zealand and Antarctica, is slowly
drifting north, a polar travel company says.
A large mass of 20 icebergs is heading towards New Zealand,
Australian scientists say, but oceanographer Dr Mike Williams
warns it is too early to predict a repeat of the icebergs
that paraded past the Otago coast in 2006.
