Higher food, petrol and tobacco prices will have pushed
headline inflation up in the three months ended March but the
Reserve Bank is unlikely to be too worried by the result.
A geotechnical consultant will assess the site of a rock fall
at the Glendhu Bluffs near Wanaka as part of ongoing work
this week by the Queenstown Lakes District Council to
stabilise the area.
The cost of rebuilding New Zealand's core infrastructure -
rather than shiny new stadiums or glory projects - is to
blame for the country's first $1 billion rates bill, Local
