He might have come from pole position, but Santa Claus was a
bit slow out of the blocks at the annual Dunedin Santa Parade
Perhaps in deference to the warm weather, Santa traded his
traditional sleigh for a jet ski during the annual Christmas
Parade in Oamaru on Saturday.

Santa Claus is coming to town.
A copyright dispute has not led to the destruction of the
Dunedin Santa Parade's Spongebob Squarepants float just yet,
as the parade organiser clings to hopes that Spongebob's
owners will find their Christmas spirit.
The 11th-hour efforts of organisers and volunteer helpers to
prepare Christmas floats for the Oamaru Santa Parade on
Saturday were rewarded with a huge boost in crowd numbers.
